OKLAHOMA CITY — Sonic Corp. has announced six new appointments to its officer ranks, including four promotions and two new hires.
Christie Hale |
Christie Hale has joined Sonic as vice-president of internal audit. In this role, she will be responsible for the management of the internal audit function in providing independent objective assurance and consulting services designed to improve the company’s operations, Sonic said. Ms. Hale joins Sonic from Ruby Tuesday, where she was vice-president of internal audit. Prior to that, she spent 11 years in internal audit with Bloomin’ Brands, Inc.
Johnny Jones |
Johnny Jones has been promoted to vice-president of development for Sonic from his role as vice-president of real estate and development. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the franchise sales and construction teams while driving market planning and strategy to increase the company’s unit growth. Mr. Jones has been with Sonic since 1999, starting as a programmer and analyst and working his way to manager of graphic information systems in 2004 then director of real estate and development in 2006.
Matt Schein |
Matt Schein has been named vice-president of operations systems and services for Sonic. In this role, he will be responsible for the planning, execution and implementation of operational processes and procedures for the Sonic system. Mr. Schein was most recently senior director of operational excellence for the chain, and before that was senior director of brand marketing. Before joining Sonic, he was field marketing supervisor at McDonald’s Corp.
Craig Tomlin |
Craig Tomlin has been promoted to vice-president and legal counsel for Sonic. He was most recently assistant general counsel on Sonic’s legal team. In his new role, Mr. Tomlin will be responsible for the legal aspects of significant contracts, Sonic said, including technology and other key vendors, as well as disputes, litigation and other legal issues.
Scot Treadwell |
Scot Treadwell is returning to Sonic as vice-president of construction after a two-year hiatus. He was Sonic’s director of construction services from 2007-2015. In his new role, Mr. Treadwell will lead the construction, architecture and engineering teams.
Angela Wallace |
Angela Wallace has been promoted to vice-president of tax from her role as senior director of tax for Sonic. In her new role, Ms. Wallace will be responsible for directing and coordinating tax strategy and administering tax affairs in compliance with all federal, state, local and international tax laws as well as financial reporting related to tax matters, Sonic said.

Scot is no stranger to Sonic, having worked on our construction services team previously, and we are glad to welcome him back. We are also delighted to bring Christie on board, as her experience and restaurant background will be an asset to Sonic.”
