LA MADELEINE, FRANCE — Ingredient manufacturer Roquette on Sept. 6 finalized its acquisition of Sethness, Skokie, Ill. Financial terms of the agreement, which was first announced in early July, were not disclosed.
Founded in 1880, Sethness is a manufacturer of caramel colors for a variety of applications, including non-G.M.O., certified organic and allergen-free. The company has manufacturing plants in the United States, France, India and China, and the two companies operate joint ventures in France and China.
Roquette is a global leader in plant-based ingredients, operating in more than 100 countries.
“This new step will contribute to Roquette’s strategic growth plan in the food, nutrition and health markets to address its customers’ current and future needs everywhere in the world and will create new opportunities for Roquette and Sethness’ employees,” Roquette said.
