SEATTLE — New from Starbucks Corp. is ready-to-drink (R.-T.-D.) nitro cold brew, available at grocery stores and Starbucks locations nationwide.
The beverages are available in black, dark caramel and vanilla sweet cream varieties. The black and dark caramel flavors feature about 155 mg of caffeine, while the vanilla sweet cream contains 110 mg.
The cold-brew beverages are packaged in 9.6-oz cans that are infused with nitrogen upon opening to “deliver the delicious, velvety smooth taste cold-brew fans know and love,” the company said. The drinks retail for $3.99 at convenience locations and $3.49 in grocery retailers.
Starbucks first launched nitro cold brew in its restaurants in 2016 and rolled it out nationwide by the end of 2019.
The R.-T.-D. nitro cold brew is the latest product line to join the ranks of innovation developed since Starbucks and PepsiCo, Inc. formed the North American Coffee Partnership (N.A.C.P.) in 1994. The companies’ collaborations include bottled cold brew, Starbucks Tripleshot beverages, multi-serve iced coffee and more.
“Through the N.A.C.P., Starbucks and PepsiCo created the R.-T.-D. coffee category 25 years ago and have consistently delivered leading innovation to our consumers,” said Nik Dhodi, senior director of brand management for Starbucks. “To build on the success of Starbucks nitro cold brew in our retail cafes and meet the evolving needs of consumers in the category, we are excited to launch a line of R.-T.-D. Starbucks nitro cold brew beverages to expand the reach to even more people.”
