LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ. — The innovation team at iTi Tropicals, Inc., developed plant-based stock and broth recipes that utilize coconut water as a base.
Coconut water adds a subtle flavor when combined with other ingredients, the company said. It also may be utilized as a natural hydration source because it is comprised of five electrolytes, including potassium.
The company’s coconut water products do not contain added sugars, cholesterol or fat. Coconut water naturally contains sodium, eliminating the need for added sodium in soups and stocks. Coconut cream also may be added to soups for a rich and creamy consistency, iTi Tropicals said.
