SANTA ROSA, CALIF. — The founders of Oatly and Fiji Water have partnered to develop a functional sparkling water brand. Following a soft launch in select markets, Good Idea is debuting in the United States.
Bjorn Oste and Rickard Oste of Oatly and Doug Carlson of Fiji Water invested approximately $9 million in research, product development and third-party, double-blind clinical studies in support of the beverage, which is formulated to harness the body’s natural energy while reducing cravings and balancing blood sugar and carbohydrates. Good Idea is formulated with Nordic berries, amino acids, chromium, zinc and electrolytes and is free from caffeine, sweeteners, artificial colors and calories.
Varieties include raspberry, sea berry and black currant.
“We’ve spent over seven years building the technology and perfecting the formula behind Good Idea,” said Bjorn Oste. “We saw an opportunity to make an impact on the long-term health of Americans while also delivering to them a beverage they can enjoy all day, every day.”
The products are available for a suggested retail price of $2.49 at goodidea.us. The company expects to announce retail partners soon.
