NEW YORK — Behave Foods Inc. is debuting its first new product since launching last year with its flagship line of reduced-sugar gummy bears.
Created using monk fruit, chicory root fiber and other natural flavors, Behave’s Pink Pineapple Sour Stars were inspired by customer requests for a tropical and sour offering, according to the company. The New York-based startup, which bills itself as a “modern candy brand” for adults, also took inspiration from the viral pink pineapple trend on TikTok.
Following a consumer-led reformulation in March, Behave aims to differentiate itself from other better-for-you brands in order to appeal to the adult consumer without compromising on taste. Its current flavor offerings include Seriously Good Gummy Bears in lychee, passionfruit and raspberry with both sweet and sour varieties. The products are sold at Urban Outfitters, Erewhon, Foxtrot and more.
Pink Pineapple Sour Stars contain 60 calories per 50-gram bag, plus 10 mg of sodium, 32 grams of total carbs, 4 grams of protein and 88 mg of calcium. Each serving contains 1 gram of total sugars with no added sugars. The sour star-shaped candy is available direct-to-consumer through the brand’s e-commerce platform for $30 per 6-bag box.
