NEW YORK — Five startup founders will present to a panel of industry judges at a new pitch competition hosted by Naturally New York in partnership with the Specialty Food Association on June 13 during the Summer Fancy Food Show. Participating companies will vie for an opportunity to win prize packages with a total value of more than $70,000.

The startups selected to pitch at the event are:
Fabalish, a New York-based maker of plant-based food and condiments featuring chickpea ingredients.
maivino, a New York-based premium wine company.
Rösti Stuft Spuds, a Portland, Ore., maker of frozen handheld potato-based appetizers.
Rule Breaker Snacks, a New York producer of gluten-free and plant-based soft-baked brownies and snack bites.
Waku, a Boston-based brand offering traditional Ecuadorian tea with a modern twist.
To qualify, startup companies must have been in the market for at least one year with $100,000 to $2 million in gross revenues across all sales channels during 2021.
Tickets for A Fancy New York Pitch Slam are $35, or $25 for Naturally New York members. The event is open to registered Summer Fancy Food Show attendees. The grand prize winner will be chosen based on a three-minute pitch presentation, storytelling, innovation, social impact, branding, packaging and market viability.
Judges include Scott Crawford, chief marketing officer, Fresh Direct; Neda Daneshzadeh, co-founder and managing partner, Prelude Growth Partners; Kate Harper, chief brand curator, Hive Brands; and Michael Meyer, partner, L Catterton and chief executive officer, “I and love and you.”
