KANSAS CITY — Sandwiches are getting a spring refresh on menus across the United States, as recent additions feature smoky and sweet heat flavors.
Culver’s launched two items, including a smokehouse BBQ cheddar pub burger and a crispy chicken sandwich. Both the smokehouse BBQ cheddar pub burger and crispy chicken sandwich feature a sweet and smoky barbecue sauce, layered with sharp cheddar, onion rings, pickles and Culver’s signature mayo, all on a bun that’s been baked with cheddar cheese throughout the dough.
“We’re always looking to give our guests more ways to enjoy new and exciting flavors, and the smokehouse BBQ cheddar does exactly that,” said Quinn Adkins, director of menu development at Culver’s. “We’re excited for guests not only to experience the smoky sauce that gives the sandwich its name, but to truly make it their own with their choice of beef or chicken.”
On the deli side of sandwiches, Firehouse Subs added a smokin’ triple stack sub, which will be available for a limited time. The sandwich features smoked beef brisket, smoked turkey breast and Virginia honey ham, topped with melted cheddar, slaw, barbecue sauce and mayo, all on a toasted sub roll.
“To satisfy our fans' meat cravings, we created a game-changing sandwich featuring a trio of meats sliced fresh daily and other quality ingredients to create our meatiest limited-time menu offer in brand history,” said Yosef Hojchman, chief marketing officer at Firehouse Subs. “Our new smokin’ triple stack sub is the ultimate indulgence with a flavor profile enhanced by our slow-smoked brisket and barbecue sauce.”
