KANSAS CITY — Spicy offerings are making their way to retailers across the United States.

Fly By Jing released its newest chili oil flavor: Chengdu Crunch. The flavor, which is inspired by Jing Gao’s hometown, is spicy and extra crunchy, according to the company. The Chengdu Crunch is non-GMO, tree-nut and peanut-free, vegan and contains no artificial preservatives or flavors. It is available direct-to-consumer through the company’s website.

Cedar’s Foods added a new “sizzling scallion labne dip,” which features a blend of scallions, red pepper flakes, and labne. The dip delivers “the flavors of a classic sour cream and onion dip with a hot Mediterranean twist.”

High-protein pasta and pizza maker Banza is teaming up with the Tabasco Brand to launch the limited-edition “Hotter by the Bite” pizza. Made with a gluten-free crust, the pizza features both the Tabasco pepper sauce and the Tabasco scorpion sauce.

“We’ve heard that people come back to our pizza because it’s high in protein and delivers the crispy, doughy texture they’re looking for,” said Nicole Landesman, vice president of marketing at Banza. “We’re excited to launch new flavors that put a fun spin on the ways people enjoy pizza, whether that’s ours or the wheat-based kind. We know there’s a real passion for hot sauce on pizza and loved the idea of creating a product that tests peoples’ ability to beat the heat.”
