New burgers join menus.
Red Lobster debuted the Cajun shrimp trio, which features three different shrimp entrees. The entrees include Walt’s favorite shrimp with Cajun remoulade sauce, Cajun shrimp scampi and Cajun shrimp linguini Alfredo. The seafood chain also added three cocktails: a blue dream sangria, a mango martini and a blackberry bourbon smash.
“From shrimp three ways to three new refreshing cocktails to choose from, Shrimp Trios is the perfect excuse to get out of the house, embrace the warmth of spring and enjoy a delicious meal with family and friends at Red Lobster,” said Patty Trevino, chief marketing officer at Red Lobster.
The Habit Burger Grill is adding a limited-edition jalapeño char burger. The burger features a chargrilled patty topped with American cheese, a spicy jalapeño jam, the California-based chain’s jalapeño mustard ranch, lettuce, tomato and pickled jalapeños, all served on a toasted brioche bun.
White Castle is adding its 1921 slider with a spicy twist. The slider features ghost pepper cheese, topped with caramelized grilled onions, lettuce and two pickles.
Freddy’s expanded its menu with new additions, including a steakburger stacker and Reese’s-themed desserts.
The steakburger stacker features three steakburger patties, American and white cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato pickles and Freddy’s fry sauce. Two desserts also are joining the menu with the Reese’s creamy peanut butter shake and the Reese’s crunchy peanut butter concrete, which both feature churned vanilla frozen custard, Reese’s Peanut Butter cups, and Reese’s peanut butter sauce, topped with whipped cream.
Krispy Kreme Inc. partnered with Mondelez International to introduce a collection of cookie donuts featuring Chips Ahoy! and Oreo.

Taco Bell is bringing back its nacho fries for a limited time. The nacho fries are available in the classic version, and the company is adding a spicy version of the fan-favorite through a partnership with Austin, Texas-based Yellowbird Hot Sauce. The partnership’s fries feature slim-cut potato fries, nacho cheese sauce, steak and Taco Bell and Yellowbird’s new spicy habanero ranch.

McDonald’s has reformulated its Big Mac sandwich, McDouble burger, classic cheeseburger, double cheeseburger and hamburger. The changes include a softer bun, meltier cheese, adding white onions to burger patties while they’re still on the grill and more Big Mac sauce on the burger.
“I'll always remember my first burger from McDonald's,” said Chef Chad Schafer, senior director of culinary innovation at McDonald's USA. “And now my culinary team and I have the best job in the world: thinking about ways to bring even more of that iconic McDonald's taste to fans. We found that small changes, like tweaking our process to get hotter, meltier cheese and adjusting our grill settings for a better sear, added up to a big difference in making our burgers more flavorful than ever.”
California Pizza Kitchen is expanding with its new summer menu, which features three menu items and two beverages. Among the new menu items are a California fields salad, dynamite shrimp and strawberry shortcake.
The California fields salad features watermelon, strawberries and field greens tossed with a Champagne vinaigrette and topped with feta and pistachios. The dynamite shrimp includes crispy shrimp tossed with a sweet-and-spicy sriracha sauce and topped with scallions and toasted sesame seeds. The dessert is served on warm shortcake biscuit and topped with strawberries, whipped cream and candied lemon zest. New additions to the drink menu include an alcoholic summer fruit sangria and a non-alcoholic sparkling watermelon cooler.
McDonald’s is adding its Big Mac sauce in dip cups to menus across the United States for a limited time.
Pinkberry added a limited-edition white peach flavor, which is topped with strawberries, blueberries and a strawberry peach puree. The frozen yogurt chain also is adding two shaken iced teas to its menu, including a dragon berry shaken tea and a peach mango shaken tea.
“We are thrilled to introduce our new limited time swirl and shaken teas,” said Melissa Hubbell, vice president of marketing for Kahala Brands, parent company of Pinkberry. “Our white peach tart frozen yogurt combines all the revitalizing flavors of the season and our new Dragon Berry and Peach Mango Shaken Teas will refresh and rejuvenate our guests on those warm spring and summer days ahead.”
