Coffee creamer brand Nutpods expanded into the ready-to-drink category with the launch of its creamy cold brew, which is available in classic and vanilla caramel flavors.
“I’ve been a fan of cold brew for years, regularly opting for cold coffee beverages over warm, and of course, always blended with my favorite Nutpods flavor,” said Madeline Haydon, founder and chief executive officer of Nutpods. “We are always keeping a pulse on trends in coffee and with cold brew and iced coffee having overtaken hot coffee for the majority of younger coffee drinkers, this ‘pour-and-go’ behavior made the idea of Nutpods creamy cold brew move from idea to reality.”

The brand’s initial offering will be a canned cold brew formulated with date seeds, chicory, sunflower seeds, carob, lentils, grape seeds and millet malt. Production involves significantly less water, fewer carbon emissions and a shorter supply chain than conventional coffee, said Maricel Saenz, founder and chief executive officer of parent company Compound Foods.

“When creating the beverages, we were inspired by the rich history and origin stories of coffee and olive oil — two of nature’s most transcendent ingredients,” said Amy Dilger, principal beverage developer for Starbucks. “Infusing Starbucks coffee with olive oil yielded a velvety smooth, rich texture, with the buttery, round flavors imparted by the olive oil perfectly pairing with the soft, chocolatey notes of the coffee.”
