New better-for-you formulations reach shelves.
B&G Foods launched three new varieties of its Weber Seasoning Blends, which are made in partnership with spirit companies Fireball Whiskey, Southern Comfort Whiskey and Buffalo Trace Whiskey.
The Fireball Whiskey seasoning blend features a sweet heat cinnamon flavor, the Buffalo Trace Whiskey seasoning features notes of sweet fruit and caramel, and the Southern Comfort Whiskey seasoning blend is flavored with a mix of stone fruit, warm spices and garlic.
“This partnership means fans of our brands now have a completely new way to experience the flavors of their favorite spirits — in seasoning form,” said Bryan Rakowski, brand portfolio vice president at Sazerac. “From cooking, to grilling, and even cocktail preparation, there are now even more ways for our fans to enjoy and experiment with the taste profiles of their favorite spirits. We’re excited to share the recipes B&G Foods has developed and can’t wait to see what consumers come up with, too.”
Better-for-you soda company Olipop launched its take on ginger ale. Olipop ginger ale features 5 grams of sugar, prebiotics and 9 grams of fiber.
Siete Foods has partnered with fast-casual chain Sweetgreen for their first ever “partnerchip.” The two companies partnered together to debut SG x Siete: Green Goddess Ranch Potato Chips with a Hint of Poblano. The kettle-cooked chips are inspired by Sweetgreen’s green goddess ranch dressing with an added hint of poblano flavor. They are made with avocado oil and are also gluten-free and dairy-free.
Single-serve brownie brand Dalci launched its fifth flavor, pumpkin spice blondie. The pumpkin spice blondie is available at Sprouts locations starting in September, with direct-to-consumer availability through Amazon coming soon.
The blondies are made with no preservatives or artificial ingredients, and feature ingredients like coconut sugar, almond flour and pumpkin puree.
Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCAA) entered a new product category with the launch of frozen macaroni and cheese and frozen pizza.
Nissin Foods USA launched its Geki line for the first time in the United States. The noodles, which have been infused with chili flakes, feature a hot chicken seasoning packet.
“We know that spicy food experiences are embedded in American culture and a recent food industry study found that 65% of consumers are choosing spicy meals when cooking at home,” said Priscila Stanton, senior vice president, marketing at Nissin Foods USA. “We wanted to find an innovative solution that not only satisfies consumer cravings for heat, but also delivers on our mission to provide meals of value that are both convenient and delicious, while providing a spicy foundation for culinary creativity in American kitchens.”
Kernel Season’s, a brand of Sauer Brands, Inc., added five popcorn seasoning flavors. Including cinnamon roll, roasted garlic butter, churro, salt-and-pepper, and salt-and-vinegar. Each seasoning is kosher certified and gluten-free.
Halo Top is bringing back its pumpkin pie flavor for a limited time. The seasonal pint features bits of pumpkin pie crust, protein and 360 calories.
