KANSAS CITY — New sandwiches are joining menus as seasonal launches continue across the United States.
Wendy’s is adding to its “Made to Crave” line-up with the loaded nacho cheeseburger, loaded nacho chicken sandwich and queso fries. The loaded nacho cheeseburger features a square beef patty topped with melted cheese, roasted poblano queso, spicy corn, tortilla chips, spicy chipotle sauce, lettuce and tomato, all served on a jalapeño cheddar bun. The queso fries are topped with poblano queso and shredded cheddar cheese.
“At Wendy's, we are dedicated to creating exceptional, craveable experiences for our passionate fans, and our talented culinary team continues to deliver time and time again with our stacked Made to Crave roster,” said Lindsay Radkoski, US chief marketing officer for The Wendy's Co. “The new Loaded Nacho Cheeseburger pays homage to two American tailgating classics — cheeseburgers and nachos — and will have fans leaving the other guys behind and making the transfer to Wendy’s this season.”
Carl’s Jr. launched a new burger and shake with the introduction of the big char chile burger and a salted caramel pretzel shake to its menus, which are available for a limited time. The big char chile burger features a beef patty topped with Santa Fe sauce, pepperjack cheese, a whole charred green chile and iceberg lettuce. The salted caramel pretzel shake is made from a blend of ice cream, milk, caramel syrup and pretzel pieces.
“Our new big char chile burger and salted caramel pretzel shake pack a flavor punch — on their own and together, and guests are sure to come back for more,” said Anthony Nguyen, vice president of brand marketing at Carl’s Jr. “Carl’s Jr. is known for its exciting menu items, and with these two only available for a limited time, you aren’t going to want to miss out on this ambitious flavor combo.”
Chick-fil-A is adding a honey pepper pimento chicken sandwich to its menus, which features an original Chick-fil-A filet, topped with pimento cheese, mild pickled jalapeños and a sweet honey drizzle, all served on a toasted bun. The chicken chain also added a caramel crumble milkshake, which is made with butterscotch caramel flavors, Chick-fil-A Icedream and blondie crumbles, topped with whipped cream and a cherry.
“Innovation has been part of Chick-fil-A's history since 1964 when S. Truett Cathy created the Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich,” said Leslie Neslage, director of menu and packaging at Chick-fil-A. “Since then, we’re always in tune with our customers’ appetites and look to create menu items that satisfy their cravings and offer unique flavor combinations. Combining new and surprising ingredients with classic Chick-fil-A flavors, we hope both these new menu items will deliver a delicious new spin for our guests to enjoy.”
